Minor in Marine Science
UAF offers a new minor degree in marine science, which will provide students with a marine-science knowledge base and skill set, hands-on experience, and strengthen the ability to address essential issues in research, education, management, administration or industry related to Alaska's marine resources.
The minor in marine science requires 15 credits, with 7 credits in core courses and 8 credits in electives from a variety of interdisciplinary fields, as outlined below. The minor in marine science will be represented in the UAF catalog in Fall 2012, but courses taken previously (e.g., during spring 2012) can be applied toward the Minor degree. The Minor in Marine Science is available to students in all degree programs.
