Research Overview
With increasing anthropogenic carbon dioxide levels, the world's oceans are becoming more acidic. This acidification will have adverse effects on marine organisms, and understanding how organisms will react to these changing conditions is the focus of my research.
I am interested in the effects of ocean acidification has on commercially harvested species, specifically walleye pollock. Using an interdisciplinary approach, my research will focus on standard metabolic rate change as well as metabolic enzyme activity when they are exposed to acidified conditions.
