Research Overview
My research focuses on how habitat type and prey availability effect patterns in resource selection among marine predators in coastal Alaska. In particular, I am interested in exploring how patterns in space-use gathered by telemetered marine mammals can be related to the distribution and abundance of forage species associated with varying habitat types.
Current Research Projects
- Relating habitat type and prey availability to patterns in sea otter resource selection in Kachemak Bay, Alaska
- Seasonal variation in nearshore prey availability and quality in the Alaskan Arctic: implications to ringed seal (Phoca hispida) site fidelity and space-use
