Frances and Alfred Baker Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to students in the School of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences at the University of Alaska Fairbanks with preference for those studying environmental or health issues. Alfred Baker was a marine biologist at the Fishery Products Laboratory in Ketchikan from 1945-1948, and thereafter was associate sanitarian with the Alaska Department of Health (territorial and state) in the same city until his retirement in 1965. A bequest from his wife Frances established this scholarship to benefit UAF students in aquatic biology or environmental health.
