Summer Opportunities for High School Students
Camps, Internships, College Bridging Programs
Northwest Arctic Career and Technical Education Center (NACTEC)
Schools have the opportunity to send their junior high students to NACTEC with one/two staff members from the school. NACTEC staff will work with the incoming school’s staff to set up a program that will meet the needs of the school. This program will consist of survival swimming, exploration of careers, and exploration of vocational programs in building trades, welding, engine repair, and/or consumer science. A maximum of twenty-four students will be able to attend. The main goal of the Junior High program is to acquaint students with introductory vocational and life and work readiness skills..
