Captain Melissa Bert currently serves as Commander, Coast Guard Sector Juneau. The command consists of approximately 200 active duty, reserve, and civilian members with ten field commands and detachments. The Sector is responsible for overseeing a wide array of Coast Guard missions in Southeast Alaska, including, but not limited to, Search and Rescue, Marine Safety, Homeland Security, Aids to Navigation & Waterways Management, Living Marine Resources Law Enforcement, and Illegal Drug Interdiction.
