Where will I study for my undergraduate fisheries degree?
You have the option of beginning your studies at any of the major University of Alaska campuses (Fairbanks, Anchorage or Juneau) and completing your degree at UAF in Fairbanks or our new UAF fisheries facility in Juneau. This option, called the Two-Plus-Two Program, allows you to spend your first two years at UAF, the University of Alaska Southeast, or at the University of Alaska Anchorage, and your last two years at UAF Fairbanks or the UAF Juneau Center. How long, typically, should it take to get my B.S. degree?
Four to five years full-time, depending on how enthusiastic you are to complete your degree. If you want to finish in four years, you must take 15–18 credits per semester.
What kind of jobs can I get with a B.S. in fisheries from UAF?
Graduates of the program are qualified to work in management, law enforcement, public information/education, and other phases of fisheries work. Students wanting careers in research, administration, advanced management or teaching find the undergrduate program a solid foundation for graduate study.
