Graduate Program in Fisheries

Graduate Fisheries Course of Study

With research locations throughout the state, students spend most of their time on the same campus as their research advisor in Fairbanks or at the Juneau Center on the University of Alaska Southeast campus. Interior Alaska aquatic habitats are easily accessible for study from Fairbanks. Marine and freshwater studies in fisheries and fish biology can be pursued at the Juneau Center, near the Auke Bay National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) Laboratory with its large staff of research scientists. Faculty and students often work with NMFS and the Alaska Department of Fish and Game. Facilities include computer labs and freshwater and seawater wet labs.
